Hi, my name is Mrs. Rains. This is my 5th year teaching special education for the Des Moines School District. I am just finishing up my Masters at Morningside College in Sioux City May 2011. While completing my course work there I also earned a reading, middle school, and special educaiton consultant endorsement to add to my liscence.
My husband and I are about to celebtrate 3 years in June. He currently works at Easter Seals of Iowa at their camp, Sunnyside, and their adult group, Lifeclub. He also works part-time as a hotel engineer. Since I'll be done with my Masters soon, he anticipates going back to school to finish his degree in social work.
We have 3 children. My oldest is Abbey, 13, and she is into drama, boys, and texting. She's absolutely gorgeous so she can antiicpate being locked up until she's 30 or so! Ben, 11, has a sweet, gentle heart and enjoys golf, video games, and pretty much anything that can keep him laughing. He rocks the house and thinks everything is halarious. His laugh melts my heart. The youngest is Isaiah. He is 3 years old and is a hand-full. He is strong-willed, loves Buzz Lightyear, and loves telling stories about dinosaurs. As are all 3 year olds, he is full of energy.
We also have 2 cats, Daisy and Mia. They are spoiled and my husband pretty much wishes they weren't around :) We are hoping to get our family dog, Noah, at the end of this school year. He's 3 months now and a husky/retreiver mix. We are very excited!
When I am not working or chasing around my 3 year old, I enjoy singing, playing the clarinet, watching movies on the couch with friends and family, or having skin care classes for Mary Kay (my personal business-love it!). We are a laid-back family, who enjoy spending times helping others and working towards a better community for us all to live in.
